The blindingly white marble is a unique feature in the klamaths. Before it was a park the mountains were used for hunting hiking snowmobiling mining guiding and ranching the northern end of the mable range is at the big bar lake road on the edge of the cariboo plateau. Marble occurs elsewhere in the marble mountains in places such as the kings castle to the north and the big elk lake. The limestone canyon in which marble canyon provincial park is located is a rare geological formation in british columbia and this is not some small sport climbing bluff at its full height marble canyon is over 800 metres 2 600 feet high and many.

The trails of the marble range are rough and steep not maintained. The migration is dictated by food availability. A signed backroad winds up past the powerline and into the two mile creek valley then over to porcupine creek. Wilderness permits are not required for trips into the marble mountain wilderness. The total distance up and down is about 22km but we decided to spend the night and take it easy. The pct crosses the wilderness and boulder peak the tallest in the park rises to an impressive 8299 feet. Marble mountain is a 12 6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near strathcona d british columbia canada that features a river and is rated as difficult. A california campfire permit is required and are available at any.
