I long for a more modern look with bigger tiles and thinner grout lines mostly for the practicality of it all. Gray grout will emphasize the dramatic gray veins that mimic real carrara marble while the white grout will the porcelain floors light bright and elegant. We love the way a traditional black and white marble tile flooring can add a classic vibe to your space. I think i would go with the darker one. I hear it quite often dark grout can sometimes seep into the sides of a light marble and stain it causing it to look dingy overall. Kitchen floor is black penny tiles with black grout which looks super cool and i ve been happy with but again it s a lot of grout to clean for a kitchen floor. However the marble tile edges will be more porous than a polished face and the black grout could bleed and cause some discoloration to the white tiles since it will be in contact with the marble and wet for quite a while before curing.

Depending on the color of grout used the look of carrara pietra porcelain tile can vary once installed. Marble is available at the tile shop in black green grey blue brown red beige and more. I have seen floors where the grout is too light and it screams fake wood. Dark grout is not without its own set of issues though.

But using a lighter colored grout may not be the answer since it could also bleed into the black tiles making the edges look foggy. Definitely stay with a lighter color for marble. I think it is comparable to my floor grout choice in tone. Lighter marble floors can drastically brighten your room s atmosphere.

My vote is white it will keep the marble looking pristine and will darken a bit over time matching the look of natural carrara quite well. But i get compliments on my penny round floor tiles all of the time. Fill grout joints on natural marble with joints larger than 1 8 inch with sanded grout. This can occur when using a darker colored thinset too.
